I'm using SQL Installation Center and trying to check my configuration or/and install a new instance and I'm prompted for the installation media. I've performed lengthy searches trying to find the answer to no avail.
How could such a necessary yet "should be trivial" answer not be available? Does nobody at MS know where they store this media? Don't thousands of people need this answer? Doesn't anyone else use the Installation Center application? I'm confused by both where the media is and how there could be no evident answer, and further, why didn't the programmers of SQL collaborate such that the SQL Installation Center application knows where to find its own media?
This has cost me more time than in ever should have; the whole picture just dumbfounds me! And the answer shouldn't be to search your entire drive for all "setup.exe" files, then check each one's properties, that's ridiculous MS! Could I please get a professional answer to this question, I promise I'll share it with everyone. It seems like you're (MS) covetting the answer or something.
Sincerely Frustrated;
