All I need are manual uninstallation instructions for SQL Server 2016 running on Windows 10! If someone can link me to them, I would be forever grateful! I just need the registry keys& any services that are not obviously SQL Server components.
If you want to know why, read on...
I installed SQL Server 2016 Express with Advanced Services. At the end of the install, my building lost power, corrupting the install. I also installed SQL Server 2016 Standard hoping to replace the corrupted install (not realizing there is no localDB in Standard edition).
When I then tried to upgrade the Express Advanced to Developer, I was greeted by this nasty looking uber-ambiguous error message:
This was a legitimate upgrade path but obviously something went very wrong. All attempts to repair the installation fail (with similarly ambiguous errors). I am really stuck here. Short of combing through the install logs, I am out of options. It seems that no one at Microsoft ever imagined SQL Server installed on a Windows 10 machine having any troubles. I can find no documentation on manual removal on any version short of Windows Server.
In addition to the SQL Server Express, somehow the install of SQL Standard was affected & that also refuses to uninstall.
Thanks in advance!

Hello,
I'm installing Sql 2008 r2 on a fresh install of Server 2008. I'm getting a couple of weird installations issues. 1) the Windows installer hangs with "The Windows installer service could not be accessed. This could happen if you are running Windows in Safe mode or if Windows installer is not installed correctly"
and 2) Error 1911 could not register type library for file C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\MSEnv\vsext.olb along with some other 1911 errors.
Has anyone seen these type of errors before. I've reregistered msiexec.exe but I'm still getting the error.

When I try to do inplace upgrade from SQL Server 2005 to 2008, I am getting the following error.
Upgrade to SQL Server 2008 64Bit.
There are validation errors on this page.
There are no features selected for upgrade.
OS: Windows 2008 (recently upgraded from Windows 2003)
SQL Server: SQL server 2005 (SP4) - Standard edition.
I would like to upgrade to SQL Server 2008 Enterprise edition.
Would appreciate if some one could provide a solution. I have checked the logs and could not find any failure errors.
I just attempted installing SQL 2016 RTM and the install rebooted the server. After the reboot SQL of course is not working at all due to the install not completing; so, it's
hosed up. It appears that msiexec requested a restart due to SSIS (see below). Has anyone had this issue? This is a new Win 2012-R2 VM and a new SQL 2016 install.
From the Win App Error Log:
Windows Installer requires a system restart. Product Name: SQL Server 2016 Integration Services. Product Version: 13.0.1601.5. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Microsoft Corporation. Type of System Restart: 1. Reason for Restart: 1.
In a new installation of SQL Server 2008R2 Standard in a windows Server2012R2, we have mixed-mode authentication enabled. Using Windows authentication, we are able to authenticate using SQL Management Studio as expected. Using SQL authentication, SQL Management Studio will not let me authenticate. Two strange symptoms:
Using SQL Authentication and using another SSMS that is installed in a different server we are able to connect to the instance.
Any Idea in what to do in this cases?
My laptop had installed Microsoft SQL 2014 CU14 version 12.0.2569.0, and HotFix 2569 for Microsoft SQL (64bit). However, when I try to update the SQL through windows update to the latest build which is Microsoft SQL Server 2014 SP1 CU7 KB3162659, I get the error code 84B30002, I can't get pass it, dealing with this error already been a week, no luck in google too.
Is it that I've installed the SQL CU14 that caused the error due to mismatch version or something? I don't get it. Please help. Thanks and appreciated.
Hello all,
I noticed that a server failed to apply an update for SQL Server 2014 through our update manager. I downloaded the update and tried to apply it manually. During the upgrade, it does a rule check to see that things are in order. The result shows that all pass, except for 'Not clustered or the cluster service is up and online'.
This is a standalone server, one instance of SQL, so no cluster. I have been reading other forums and blog posts about this, but so far, I haven't found what appears to be a practical resolution to this.
Does anyone have any experience with this?
Many thanks.
Missing system administration account. To continue provide at least one window account to provision as a sql server system admistrator.

I am in it deep

Please guide me where i am going wrong in this whole process.
Thanks...
Im running a Windows 10 laptop with an i7 processor, plenty of memory and SSD.
When i return some rows using SSMS 2012 (also have Visual Studio 2015 installed) it take approximately 5 seconds for the data to return. Is there any reason why or anyway that i can narrow down what the issue may be?
Hi I need urgent help.
